James: Pure Religion
Dear Mosaic Family,
The first disciples got the most incredible blessing of spending 3 years with Jesus Christ. It must have been so amazing to hear Jesus teach, love, care, serve, heal, and then see his life "behind the scenes." They got "public Jesus" and also "private Jesus." The got to see him preach to thousands, and then they got to hang out with him and go fishing. They got to see him preach sermons with words and then live them out with his life. Those experiences transformed them.
While the disciples got a few years with Jesus, James got decades with Jesus. James was Jesus' kid brother. Can you imagine that? Can you imagine growing up with Jesus as your big brother? Imagine everything you would learn. Imagine everything you would experience. Well, James takes all his experiences with Jesus and writes about it. Tomorrow, as we study James 1:19-27, James teaches us about the essence of Christianity, or as he calls it: "Pure Religion." See youtomorrow!
