Prayer & Fasting for Racial Reconciliation

Dear Mosaic Boston Family,
Martin Luther King Jr was a godly man gripped by God's vision for humanity. He knew that we are all created by God with equal dignity, value, and worth. He also understood that any hint of racism undermines the dignity of human life, and defies the Giver of life. He accomplished much, but he was not satisfied. King was driven by an insatiable desire for biblical justice. In his iconic speech, "I have a Dream," he said "No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."' He gave his life for this vision, and his dream lives on.

However, we have a long way to go, till justice "rolls down like waters." There are moments when it seems like we have come so far. There there are the other moments, which happen far too often, when the evil within our hearts reminds us of how far we have to go. We beg God "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." We plead with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to sanctify our hearts of any racism, and make us agents of grace and change in our culture.

If the issues surrounding racial division and the challenges of reconciliation don't drive us to our knees in prayer, then we have not even begun to understand how complex and daunting the issues are. Join us in prayer for our nation, for God's Spirit to bind up the nation's wounds, and give us strength and wisdom to work hard to be agents of reconciliation.

Join us tomorrow as we, humble ourselves before the Lord, and pray.
Praying for you!
Pastor Jan
